About Albert Liu
Singer · Songwriter · Guitarist · Producer
Albert Liu is a New York City-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist whose musical journey spans indie rock, pop punk, and blues rock territory. Trained at the Berklee College of Music, Albert brings a rare combination of technical fluency and soul into everything he creates.
His story is one of evolution; from the intimate indie textures of Echo Lanterns (which he co-founded in 2024) to the kinetic energy of his pop punk project LostBoy Kujo, each chapter deepened his versatility and inspiration as a musician. Now, as the frontman of Albert Liu and the Wild Hearts, he's channeling his blues rock roots into the most personal project of his career.
Albert Liu: A Timeline
Picks Up the Guitar
Begins learning guitar as a child in NYC, inspired by the legends — Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer, and the thunder of 80s rock. The foundation of everything that follows.
Starts Writing Original Music
Begins developing a personal voice as a songwriter, blending blues-rooted guitar work with the energy of modern rock and pop punk.
LostBoy Kujo
Launches the pop punk project LostBoy Kujo — high-energy, hook-driven, and emotionally raw. The project sharpens his instincts as a live performer and songwriter. Active on TikTok @lostboykujo.
Berklee College of Music
Enrolls at Berklee College of Music — one of the world's premier music institutions. Deepens technical range across guitar, songwriting, and performance.
Cowboy Club — "You Can, I Can"
Releases a first collaboration — an EDM track under the name Cowboy Club, proving creative range across genres before pivoting fully back to guitar-driven rock.
Echo Lanterns Founded
Co-founds Echo Lanterns — an indie rock project rooted in East Asian heritage. The name symbolizes releasing the past and embracing new beginnings. YouTube: @EchoLanterns.
Albert Liu & The Wild Hearts
The most fully-realized chapter yet. A live blues rock band pulling from Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer, and 80s rock — built for stages that shake. As electric visually as they are sonically. Based in New York City, performing nationally.
